Ashish Gupta will open Port Eliot’s year of Creative Resistance in a blaze of his dazzling politically-charged, sequin-embellished protest fashion. With the use of his trademark sequins and slogans, Ashish has become an inspirational London Fashion Week activist hero for the way he champions LGBTQ rights, diversity in modelling, and uses his shows to stand up against the rise of racial hatred and division in face of Brexit and Trump’s America. Growing up in Dehli, Ashish moved to London and took his MA in Fashion at Central St Martins with the legendary Professor Louise Wilson. His label draws on his culture and heritage – all clothes are handmade in India, with his mother now managing his factory there. Much loved and celebrated by many celebrities, Ashish has won the British Fashion Council’s NEWGEN award three times, has his clothes stocked by Matchesfashion.com and sells globally.
