Amanda Brown has been practicing yoga for over 30 years and has been fortunate to study with many excellent teachers. For more than 20 years she taught within the framework of BKS Iyengar as a qualified teacher. Iyengar yoga is characterized by a rigorous application of technique and clarity within posture and breath work which provides safe practice guidelines for all abilities. It can provide inspiration for when we are feeling strong and flexible, and support for changing times in life or when we simply need some nourishing. Having resigned from the Iyengar organization several years ago Amanda now calls her classes “Biodynamic” to reflect her changing, more creative approach to bodywork as a practice of enquiry and enhancement of natural energy. Her teaching is informed by her practice as a CranioSacral therapist and also by her longterm interest in feldenkrais and more recently, Continuum movement.
She will introduce you to a wide range of movements utilizing intelligent sequencing and employing a range of techniques. Amanda is a recognised teacher with the BWY and has completed training in yoga for healthy lower backs, sKum Nye Tibetan yoga, Yoga Nidra, and this year, Embodied Yoga Principles and Vinyasa yoga. She teaches embodied anatomy on the teacher training at Falmouth Yoga space
