Mac Macartney spent 20 years being mentored and trained by a group of Native Americans. Drawing on these profound and challenging experiences Mac uses storytelling and powerful imagery and invites you to take your life in both hands, and to follow the Twin Trail: the inner trail of understanding, healing and growing; the outer trail of action and effect in the world.
Mac founded Embercombe, a social enterprise based in a beautiful valley in Devon, offering residential programmes in re-connection: to our authentic selves, to our gifts, passion and purpose, and to each other and the land. The programmes are based on a unique and powerful blend of indigenous wisdom, embodiment work, coaching models, community and nature connection. Its mission is to awaken and empower us to be our authentic, connected selves so we are the change and the leaders in the world that we wish to see, and that the world is calling for (http://embercombe.org).
Mac weaves ideas of beauty, wildness, activism and the yearning all humans have for a meaningful life, into a compelling narrative. It is a call, a paean, a heart-song, to the many millions of us who still stand on the sidelines and passively watch as our planet is slowly, systematically and meticulously tamed, caged, and broken.
As the Hopi Nation elders announced, “We are the ones we have been waiting for.”
