Helen Chaloner, Chief Executive of Literature Works is a life-long reader and literature lover. She moved to the South West after a decade working in publishing PR in London. For five years she ran the Arvon Foundation, well-known for its residential creative writing courses, followed by ten years at the unique education charity, Farms for City Children, which offers inner city children a week on a working farm. She joined Literature Works in March of this year, taking up the challenge of championing literature, readers and writers in South West England and beyond. Helen lives in West Devon on the north-eastern edge of Dartmoor and is also the principal short story reader for the Bridport Prize.
