Join Sian Cornish and the team at Lancaster & Cornish for a fun and productive workshop creating your own Festival Headdress.
Lancaster & Cornish are an artisan studio based in Cornwall, making and dyeing silks and textiles with natural plant dyes silks for weddings and special occasions. Together with their ranges of organic cotton laces and styling kits they work with clients in Cornwall and worldwide.
The Festival Headdress Kit is makes a welcome return to Port Eliot Festival this year. Each student will be given organic cotton lace, tape, needle and thread, silk ribbons, feathers and those all-important embellishments to make a wonderful Festival Headdress.
Hand sew exotic peacock feathers (or you might prefer the native pheasant….) onto organic lace, add natural pearls and tie with silk ribbons to make your final creation truly unique to you.
Pop your new head gear on and enjoy parading your creation around the festival for the rest of the weekend!
Owner Sian Cornish has a strong family heritage in the textile industry. From her Great-Grandparents cotton weaving in the Lancashire Mills of north-west England, to her Grandfather trading with merchants from around the globe in the first part of the 20th century, textiles are in the blood. Inspired by travels in India and Mexico, Sian takes forward her heritage and combines a passion for colour and textiles with her own ethical twist.
