Originally from Kent, Nathan now calls Cornwall his home and is a proud ambassador of all things Cornish. His style of cooking is one of simplicity but with complex flavour combinations using local, seasonal, responsibly sourced ingredients. Nathan was proud to be named the AA Chef’s Chef of the Year 2014/15.
Nathan currently has two restaurants and a pub in Cornwall: Restaurant Nathan Outlaw in the historic fishing village of Port Isaac has two Michelin stars and is currently placed at number 2 in the latest Waitrose Good Food Guide’s ‘Top 50 Restaurants in the UK’. Outlaw’s Fish Kitchen, also in Port Isaac, offers diners small plates of seafood in an informal setting.
Nathan also runs The Mariners public house in conjunction with Sharps’ Brewery, in Rock, offering a varied menu of ‘no fuss’ pub grub. In London, Outlaw’s at The Capital Hotel, Knightsbridge, holds one Michelin star. And Nathan’s first venue outside the UK, ‘Nathan Outlaw at Al Mahara’, in the world famous Jumierah Burj Al Arab in Dubai opened in Autumn 2016.
Nathan has written many successful cookbooks. A collection of favourites from his kitchen at home, Nathan Outlaw’s Home Kitchen is due for publication in April 2017.
In 2012, Nathan joined forces with Cornwall College to open Academy Nathan Outlaw, offering student chefs and Front of House students enhanced learning opportunities. He is also a hit with TV audiences, regularly appearing on programmes such as ‘Saturday Kitchen’, ‘Masterchef Professionals’ and ‘Great British Menu’.
