Venue: The Tiddy Tent, on Saturday.

Peter Beacham is a writer whose books on the South West of England include the revised edition of Nikolas Pevsner’s ‘Cornwall’ in the Pevsner Architectural Guides in 2014. He is about to publish a major volume on Buckfast Abbey – History, Art and Architecture in October this year. His earlier collaboration with James Ravilious on Down the Deep Lanes was a homage to many years working in rural Devon and exploring it’s rural life which mirrored Ravilious’s photographic record of the countryside in the 1970s and 80s.

In other fields, he has been Director of Heritage Protection at English Heritage until retirement in 2011, and made an OBE for services to the historic environment in 2008. For 45 years he has also been a self-supporting Anglican priest ministering in the little medieval churches in the centre of Exeter.

He will be discussing James Ravilious’s work with Lynne Hatwell and Chris Chapman.
