John Lloyd is a two-legged mammal. His natural habitat is rural Oxfordshire, but he has been known to nest nocturnally in urban areas and to fly south for the summer. Unlike the giraffe, he cannot nibble leaves growing more than six feet above the ground, he has two fewer chromosomes than a gorilla and his mane is a great deal sparser than a lion's. He preys on small, wormlike commissioning editors and his distinctive 'woot! woot!' call has not been heard since 2002.
