Zoologist, wildlife presenter and author Growing up with a passion for animals and adventure, Lucy studied zoology at New College, Oxford, where she specialised in evolution and animal behaviour under the evolutionary biologist Professor Richard Dawkins. Following Oxford, Lucy’s science career was hijacked by TV comedy, working on cult shows for Jonathan Ross, Harry Enfield and Reeves and Mortimer. Lucy then moved into producing and directing major prime time science, travel and history documentaries, working with the likes of Clive James, Tony Robinson, Bill Bailey, Alan Davies, Kevin McCloud and Terry Jones. Lucy has produced a wide variety of documentaries, from WEBBY award-winning shorts to Sundance award-winning feature length films at BRITDOC. Her work as a producer on Meet the Sloths, won a Panda award at Wildscreen and spawned a major 13 part series for Discovery, a series which has sold to over 20 countries worldwide. As a result of the viral success of Meet the Sloths, Lucy founded Slothville, The Sloth Appreciation Society which reaches over 50,000 fans through Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr. In 2012, Lucy moved in front of the camera and presented Freaks and Creeps (National Geographic), two hours of live television on Channel Four’s Easter Eggs Live and Talk to the Animals (BBC One). 2015 sees Lucy presenting Nature’s Boldest Thieves (which screened in February, with viewing figures of 3.25 million) and Animals Unexpected both for BBC One. Lucy is an award-winning travel writer, blogger and public speaker. Her first book became a New York Times best-seller and she is currently working on her second. She is passionate about conservation and has explored the remote corners of over 50 countries.
