Lauren Elkin is a writer, critic, academic, and translator. She is the author of Flâneuse, The End of Oulipo? (with Scott Esposito), and Une Année à Venise (awarded the Prix des Lecteurs, Festival Rue des Livres). Her essays and reviews have appeared in, among others, The New York Times Book Review, the Times Literary Supplement, the Guardian, the London Review of Books online, the Wall Street Journal, Bookforum, and The Daily Beast, and she is a contributing editor at The White Review. Originally from New York, she has lived in Paris since 2004.
