For the first time ever our flower arranging competition will also be open to cooks. Dig out your favourite jam, chutney, Cornish pasty and baking recipes to test on our judges. Fortnum and Mason have so much faith in our festival goers that they have said they will have the winning jam put into production and sold in their flagship shop in Piccadilly. Rose Prince will head up a team of judges including Tom Parker Bowles, Ewan Ventners, Thomasina Miers and Richard Bertinet. If icing is your forte, make them a cake that will dazzle, or knock out a batch of scones to enter into our Rolling Scones class. Other preserve classes include best chilli sauce, pickle, piccalilli, fruit curd and jam or jelly made with flowers. In the baking class make a cake which celebrates Port Eliot Festival and for children Sticky Fingers: a decorated cup cake class. The judges are looking for good home cooks, not Masterchefs. Our flower show classes are as quirky as ever with classes including an arrangement depicting a fictitious character and Infamy Infamy - a scarecrow of your favourite villain.
