Robin Ince Among New Names Added To Line Up

We’re very proud to announce a raft of new names joining the Port Eliot 2014 bill.

Complimenting an already stellar comedy line up: broadcaster/writer Robin Ince (co-presenter of Radio 4′s The Infinite Monkey Cage with Prof Brian Cox), Miles Jupp (The Thick Of It/In And Out The Kitchen), Shazia Mirza (New Statesman/The Wright Stuff) & Tony Law (8 Out of 10 Cats/The Alternative Comedy Experience).

Further literary names include: multi-award winning history and travel writer William Dalrymple (White Mughals/Nine Lives: The Search for Modern India); one of the Times’ “fifty greatest writers since 1945″, Hanif Kureishi (The Buddha of Suburbia/The Black Album) and Raffaella Barker who will be discussing her latest novel “From A Distance”. And helping festival goers to Read Y’Self Fitter will be Andy Miller. His aim is to guide you through fifty great works of literature in just forty-five minutes.

Finally, returning to Port Eliot after a jaw dropping set on the Caught by the River stage in 2012 is American folk artist Sam Amidon. Last year’s much lauded album Bright Sunny South - which reinterpreted everything from Civil War songs to Mariah Carey singles - was described by in a four star review in the Guardian as “strange and compelling”. Watch the video for Sam’s version of As I Roved Out here.

More names will be announced in the coming weeks.
