Zubrowka Bison Grass vodka is very excited to be hosting the Frisky Bison Cocktail bar at this year’s Port Eliot Festival. The bison have rested, grass has been freshly cut, vodka flavoured and expert bar team raring to shake up some cocktails.

Cornwall and Port Eliot are the perfect setting for our Frisky foray; our bison will be right at home in its natural habitat of beautiful gardens and grassy knolls.

Zubrowka Bison Grass vodka is an authentic Polish rye vodka, made in the same tradition since the 14th century. It has the unique, distinctive aroma of summer hay, jasmine, herbs, vanilla and almonds…summer in a bottle!

The secret to the flavour lies in the name. Zubrowka means Bison Grass in Polish; a mysterious and elusive herb that resists cultivation and is still picked by hand within the heart of Europe’s last remaining primeval forest. Naturally it is the natural relationship with the bison and the grass that imparts Zubrowka’s unique flavour.

Pure rye vodka is produced in small batches on family-run farms in the lowlands of North East Poland. The rye vodka is carefully blended with Bison Grass essence according to a 600-year-old recipe and then finished with a signature blade of grass inserted in the bottle by hand.

We’ll be serving up a zesty selection of Zubrowka cocktails to revive, refresh and add a touch of friskiness to the weekend.

COCKTAIL RECIPE: THE FRISKY BISON PITCHER

Fill a pitcher (1.5 litre capacity) half full with cubed ice
Add 300 mls of Zubrowka Bison Grass Vodka
Add 900 mls of good quality cloudy apple juice, e.g. Eager apple or locally sourced
Stir and serve with citrus slices or red/green apple slices.
