The spectacular Round Room will host its very own 21st century scientific society. The World of Wonders brings together three visionary artists; Keith Albarn, David McCandless and James Bridle in a joint lecture that mashes art with maths and includes the demonstration of a computer made soley of matchboxes.

David Mccandless is a data artist and author of the book Information is Beautiful. He specialises in producing stunning visualisations of sets of data. Some are serious and some like this one are more playful.

James Bridle is a writer, programmer and artist whose work effortlessly combines old and new technologies. He will be demonstrating a machine he built from matchboxes that predicts every possible outcome of a game of noughts and crosses in a talk that explores ideas of how we perceive complexity.

Keith Albarn is an artist whose work examines our physiological and cognitive responses to pattern. By playing games with digits and nature Keith seeks to unlock the systems through which we perceive the world around us.
