Join expert forager Stuart Woodman of 7th Rise, the UK’s leading wild experience provider, as he takes you on a foraging walk around the grounds of the Port Eliot festival site. The walk will culminate in an outdoor wild cookery demonstration incorporating the ingredients gathered along the way.
Ben will be demonstrating recipes from his new book, ‘Grill Smoke BBQ’. According to Ben, all you need is the simplest barbecue with a lid and some charcoal, and you can make everything from pizzas to ribs, desserts and even Sunday roasts on a rainy winter’s day.
If you’re longing for an outdoor kitchen in your garden or woodland then Trish MacCurrach’s workshop is for you. You’ll find inspiration and practical advice on making your dream a reality such as choosing materials, where to build your kitchen, sun, shade, storage and what to include.

Flint and Steel Forest School is a Cornish outdoor specialist team who are running a number of children’s workshops at Port Eliot. At their overnight camp, children will cook up a campfire supper and enjoy learning other survival skills.
Foraging for Medicine
Ruth Weaver’s medicine foraging walk will give you an opportunity to discover the wild medicines that grow on your very doorstep. The tradition of foraging and using medicinal plants is rising in popularity as people yearn to get back to the roots of medicine.
Trish MacCurrah will focus on fish and seafood, cooked on the fire. She insists she is not officially a chef but loves intuitive cooking, using local, seasonal produce, mixing flavours and hoping to make outdoor cooking look really easy. She will be using her trusty Tripod and swapping in and out various pieces of enamel cookware which she hangs from the chain.
Learn about the techniques and processes involved in making various types of hedgerow booze and then test out your mixology skills using a range of wild spirits and foraged ingredients to create your very own signature cocktail.
