Hermès en route to Port Eliot

Arriving in style in a specially commissioned orange Horsebox, the French leather goods house Hermès is taking part in the Port Eliot Festival for the first time this year. Step up the ramp and into the chic world of Hermès — one of the hubs of this year’s festival.

Hermès was founded in Paris in 1837 by Thierry Hermès making the finest quality harnesses and saddles. Still a family company (and now onto its sixth generation) Hermès craftspeople make, often by hand, and always with love, bags and belts, diaries and dishes, scarves and shoes, perfumes and purses, ties and travelling furniture, as well as gloves, hats, watches, jewellery and clothes. They still dress horses, as well as helicopters, cars, bicycles, boats and dogs. In fact, anything one could possibly need to feel prince of a world where beauty and functionality, practicality and pure indulgence are in perfect harmony.

The Hermès Horsebox will travel from London to Cornwall and park up on the lawn in front of the house. Every day from midday until 6pm, the ramp will be lowered to reveal a stylist and Hermès scarf-tying expert who will show you the myriad of ways there are to tie an Hermès scarf. Sharing with you their favourite festival styles — including a few new and unique ones they have created just for the Port Eliot Festival — their photographer will also be on hand to record your festival look for a truly chic souvenir.
