‘Live in the sunshine, swim the sea, drink the wild air’
Ralph Waldo Emerson.
Striding into the estuary for a sunset swim is one of the highlights of the festival. A stage unlike any other, the water provides the setting for some unforgettable festival moments. At high tide, dozens of people shake off the cobwebs with a brisk swim; at low tide, they benefit from the restorative powers of the estuary’s natural mud bath.
For those who prefer to be on the water, rather than in it, there’s canoeing; and for those who prefer to sit back and bask in tranquility, it’s the perfect spot for a picnic or a sundown cocktail.
This year, the energetic amongst you can take part in wild running along the river whilst those who prefer a more relaxing pace can start the day with riverside yoga and Tai Chi.
