Charlotte Church’s Late Night Pop Dungeon to headline Friday
It’s been oh so very hard to keep a secret, but here you are… Charlotte Church’s Late Night Pop Dungeon is headlining the Park Stage on the Friday! This band is one of the great, ecstatic celebrations of music that makes you scream, shout and throw all sorts of shapes. Your destiny is to be grinning and moving as Charlotte and her crack band and choir share their love of music, jumping from Prince to Britney to Black Sabbath to Can to Destiny’s Child to Joy Division and places in between and far beyond. Destined to be one of the GREAT Port Eliot nights. Please make sure you’re there.
Zandra Rhodes’ 50 Years of Fabulous
The mother of fabulousness Dame Zandra Rhodes will be at the festival sharing her 50th Anniversary celebrations with the Fashion Foundation. She’ll be talking about her Golden Reign in Pink and Blue in a special event, plus The Fashion and Textile Museum, which she founded, is continuing its partnership with the Fashion Foundation with an exclusive sneak preview of the forthcoming London exhibition, Zandra Rhodes: Fifty Years of Fabulous, in an installation in Port Eliot House.
Literary line-up announced: Simon Armitage, Katy Brand & Patrick Gale
We’re thrilled to announce this trio of literary festival brilliance: beloved British novelist and screenwriter Patrick Gale, writer, comedian and actor Katy Brand (you might know her from The News Quiz, Peep Show and the Palme D’Or-winning Psychobitches) and award-winning poet and novelist Simon Armitage.
They’ll join Emily Maitlis, Shappi Khorsandi, Bruce Parry, Ben Okri, Simon Farnaby, Robin Ince, Kernow King, Paul Foot, Martin Parr, Viv Groskop, Max Porter and many more. Head here to see the festival literary line-up in full.
This year’s chefs revealed & new long-table dinners
This year, the festival will open a delicious and inviting relaxation spot next to the House, run by Ben Quinn of Woodfired Canteen. Impromptu long-table dinners for hundreds of diners will spring up unexpectedly at a variety of special spots on the site, so have your appetite to hand.
Honey & Co will bring traditional, homey Middle Eastern food to both our Big Kitchen and Open Fire stages. They’ll join an already bulging line-up of Open Fire stage curator Valentine Warner, Olia Hercules, Gill Meller, Zoe Adjonyoh, Polly Russell; Pen Vogler and Port Eliot favourite Russell Norman.
Port Eliot’s reputation for beautiful food is unmatched: from the Open Fire stage, to the House’s Georgian Big Kitchen and onward to the multitude of street food stalls, stands and bars serving magnificent meals.
Why not stay a while…
It’s well worth visiting us for the whole weekend. Set up on the front lawn festival Thursday and watch Aldous Harding, audiobooks and Tiny Ruins, clear the cobwebs with an early morning swim, join a free yoga class, jump into a workshop, steal a fashion show front row and enjoy some beautiful food. Our home is yours for the weekend.
Our overnight campout for kids gives parents a well-earned night off - which is just as well ‘cos the perfect day concludes with dancing ’til dawn.
