BLACK FRIDAY is a high-energy folk and Celtic punk rock band from St Germans, Cornwall, playing a lively mix of original songs, traditional Irish jigs, reels and ballads, and cover versions.

The band formed in 2006 when the singer and acoustic guitarist met the mandolin player and the bass player. They later added tin whistle, drums, electric guitar and fiddle to complete the line-up. In 2016 they played over 150 gigs all over England and Europe at a variety of venues and festivals.

After playing at Gaz’s Rockin’ Blues Club in London, they were spotted by BBC Radio 2 DJ, Marc Lamarr, who invited them to record at the famous Maida Vale studio in London for his show. While they were there, they met their hero, Pogues singer Shane MacGowan, who enjoyed the band’s rendition of Dirty Old Town.

The band is also listed in the Guinness Book of Records for performing the most gigs in one day - 30 gigs in 12 hours!
