The Idler Academy: Have you ever wondered where the hit songs of today come from? More often than not they come from the hit songs of yesterday. Come drink, chill and dance Idly with Crispin Hunt at the Idler for an hour of exposing the rip-offs and cover versions you thought (and were meant to think) were originals. Crispin DJ’s you through the genesis of tracks like Hotline Bling, Gold-digga, Hanging on the Telephone and by artists like Eminem and Michael Jackson. Like a classic artwork revealed by gentle restoration, Crispin peels the skin from the songs you love, discards the pith, bites down to the core and spits out the seeds of creation to give the credit where it it’s due.
Pulse: Crispin will be speaking to all aspiring young songwriters about how to get your work out there and not get ripped off, as well as recommending how to slant your work in such a way as to be attractive to radio producers.
