Venue: The Idler Academy, on Saturday.

Poppy Chancellor is a London-based illustrator and paper-cut artist. She creates bespoke paper-cuts for brands, events and individuals, all with her trademark wit and playfulness.

After graduating from Kingston with a degree in Illustration Poppy spent a year at the Royal Drawing School where her love of creating elaborate paper-cut designs really took hold. But it was as a result of a parental loan that the word really began to spread about her work: Her mother, the actress Anna Chancellor, suggested that Poppy repay her by making personalised paper-cuts whenever she needed a gift for a friend or family member… and within months the commissions were flooding in.

In the few short years since she graduated she has been commissioned to create paper-cuts for brands like Hobbs, Nike, Adidas and Cath Kidston, amongst others. She has also appeared on ‘Sunday Brunch’ and ‘Kirsty Allsopp’s Handmade Fair’ on Channel 4. Poppy’s first book Cut it Out: 30 Designs to Cut Out and Keep was published by Ebury in August 2016 and she has a second book on the way.
