The Q-dettes are a four-piece female group of vocal composers. They present arresting a cappella arrangements of familiar songs, sometimes poignant, sometimes swingin’, sometimes funky. And maybe they’ll slip in a guitar and some beats too…

You’ll hear Noel Coward, Britney and The Beatles like you’ve never heard before, thanks to the arrangements of The Q-dettes’ musical director Bernardine Artuso.

She heads up the group that also includes Clare Pettinger, Kate Blackwell and Katie Tokus. All four are accomplished singers and performers based in South Devon.

The group originally got together in 2012 for an artists’ residency programme at Dartington’s famous 1930s building High Cross House.

They were commissioned to spend three months working on original arrangements to perform amid the historic architecture of the Le Corbusier inspired surroundings.

They’ve since performed around the South West, including at Plymouth University, on the street in Exeter and in Devonport Guildhall.

Expect an ear-catching, sensitive and soulful repertoire with dazzling harmonies, mesmerising stage presence and versions of songs from the 1920s to the 21st century.
