Festival veterans Wurlitza return to Port Eliot for 2017, after wowing Glastonbury festival audiences in 2016 with their silent film soundtracks. This year they are debuting a new film, A Cottage on Dartmoor by Anthony Asquith on Thursday evening and this is your chance to be the first to experience it.

A Cottage on Dartmoor is a British late silent masterpiece. Said to “Out-Hitchcock Hitchcock” it uses every cinematic technical trick available to create suspense. Like “The Artist” it is a snapshot on the rise of early talking films, cleverly woven into a plot that involves an escaped convict, a love triangle, jealousy and hairdressing.

Five piece band Wurlitza’s eclectic soundtrack includes music by Beethoven, Satie, Credence Clearwater, Tom Waits, Coldplay and Blondie. If you haven’t yet had the Wurlitza experience, it comes highly recommended.
