Andy Mulligan was brought up in South London. He worked as a theatre director for ten years before travels in Asia prompted him to retrain as a teacher. He has taught English and drama all over the world, but now lives in England, and is writing full time. The Ribblestrop trilogy follows the fortunes of an extraordinary school, full of extraordinary children, but Andy is best known for ‘Trash’ - an 'outstanding ...exceptionally satisfying' novel according to the Times, which has just been filmed by Stephen Daldry and has been published in 27 languags. ‘The Boy With Two Heads’ appeared last year, and the Daily Mail called it “an extraordinary examination of grief”. His new thriller, “Liquidator” is out this coming October. Andy has been short-listed for the Carnegie Medal, and won the Guardian Children’s Fiction Prize in 2011. He writes drama for Radio 4, and his three part series ‘A Kidnapping’ has just been bought by Baby Cow for production this year. Various other movie-scripts are currently in production…
