Bill Amberg and his studio of artisans work with a deep-rooted curiosity about how leather can be best used to showcase the material’s innate beauty and high quality, as well as adaptability, to produce unique leather products in the most innovative and inspirational of ways. After leaving school and heading to Australia, Bill completed what was essentially an apprenticeship in leather. On returning to Britain nearly 30 years ago, Bill opened his own studio. Very quickly the likes of Liberty were seeking collaborations. Today the studio draws on a broad range of skills and techniques from a range of disciplines; bookbinding, saddlery, case, bag and shoe making.
