Jacob Bodilly is a potter based in Devon. With a deep respect for the traditions of pottery, he makes simple, functional and beautiful ceramic objects. He learnt his craft as an apprentice potter at the Leach Pottery in St Ives, where he focused much of his attention on Asian and European folk ceramics and traditional techniques. After completing his training, in 2010, he went on to revive Boscean Pottery in St Just, Cornwall. His first job was to finish the last pots made by the old master Scott Marshall, an honour for Jacob as Marshall had been such an inspiration to him in his path to being a potter. Commissions from the Eden Project in St Austell, artist Kurt Jackson and English Heritage followed. In 2014 Bodilly returned to Devon to set up his own studio, near Holcombe Rogus.
