THE FUTURE OF THE FESTIVAL

We know you’ve all been waiting on tenterhooks to hear more about the future of Port Eliot so we’re delighted to announce that the festival will take place from July 27^th to July 30^th next year.

This year was a momentous one for Port Eliot. A matter of days before the festival began, we bid farewell to our founder, Peregrine, Lord St Germans, in the same church where festivalgoers would gather to watch musical performances over the weekend.

Peregrine loved the festival, and was adamant that it should continue long after he was gone, so we will carry on his legacy for many years to come.

Our thoughts now turn to next year’s festival and how we can make it just as special as this year’s incredible weekend. Behind the scenes we are busy planning and plotting with so many exciting things to reveal over the coming months.

To whet your appetites we can reveal that celebrated theatre and film producer, Robert Fox, will be coming to Cornwall to discuss Lazarus, the musical written by David Bowie and Enda Walsh, which will begin its London run on 25 October.

Co- producer of Lazarus, Robert will share his experiences of working with Bowie to create the musical. 
The festival will also present a special late-night screening of The Man Who Fell to Earth, the 1976 film, starring Bowie, on which the musical is based. More details of further screenings and Bowie and Lazarus-related events across the festival will be confirmed soon.

Festival Director, Catherine St Germans, said, “It’s lovely to be able to confirm that the festival will be back in 2017 and will continue for years to come. This was a special year for the festival, it was a beautiful event, and we’ll be back for more next year. And it’s very exciting to be able to reveal the first of our Lazarus plans and that Robert Fox will be coming to Cornwall. Hope you’ll join us too.”
