The boldly-named ensemble Britain are a box-fresh duo from outrageous Preston – one young woman and one young man subtly blending elements of dream pop and post-punk by means of guitar, synth and drum machine. Their live performances have been described by Q Magazine as ‘soporific bliss’. ‘Together they don’t so much play songs as cast spells with a feathery beauty not heard since the sweet opium fog of early Cocteau Twins’. Britain are due to release their debut record on Heavenly Recordings in 2017.
