Our literary line-up has landed! Across five fantastic stages, the literature programme features award-winning scribblers, novelists, historians and cultural commentators. The 2017 programme is looking very special indeed.

Heading up our 2017 literary line-up, we’re delighted to have YouTube poetry marvel Hollie McNish, who recently won the prestigious Ted Hughes Award for new poetry, and worldwide bestselling British author Louis de Bernières, author of Captain Corelli’s Mandolin.

Plus we’ll be hearing from BBC presenter and multimillion-bestselling author Ben Macintyre, award-winning memoirist Nina Stibbe, comedian, author and political activist, Robert Newman, one-to-watch Matt Haig, whose latest novel has been optioned for film by Benedict Cumberbatch’s production company, and Daisy Buchanan, a frequent fixture in the Guardian’s ‘most- read’ section - and much, much more besides! Click here to see the full literary line-up.

New for this year; we have the brand new Poetry Stage, curated by legendary wordsmiths Luke Wright and Rosy Carrick. We can’t wait to see it come to life!

Also announced today, the already-bulging workshops programme has grown further still, and now includes a very special invitation to learn Plasticine Modelling with Jim Parkyn, senior model maker at the great Aardman Animations.

There’ll be opportunities to learn everything from blacksmithing and forgery to mixology; masterclasses in wild life drawing (pictured), letterpress, modern calligraphy, wax-carving, and much, much more!

Many of our workshops are free and open for drop-ins on the day, but some you’ll need to book in advance - including our Hole & Corner workshops this year. Booking opens on Wednesday 10th May, which means you’ve got two weeks to browse our workshops and decide what tickles your fancy.

Today we also unveiled what you’ll be eating and drinking at the festival. Feeding you this year will be 26 Grains, a cafe based in Neal’s Yard founded by Alex Hely-Hutchinson, Claire Ptak’s Violet Bakery in the Orangery, purveyors of Persian-inspired street food Open Sesame, and Cornish seafood connoisseurs Thyme & Tide, who serve fresh locally caught fish marinated with spice blends and Cornish lobsters drizzled with flavoured butters.

Absolutely tons more on offer - head to our Eating & Drinking page for more tantalising imagery!

See you in the gardens!
