Claire Thomson is a food writer, chef and mother. Faced with the daily challenge of what to cook for her three young children, she made it her mission to inspire parents stuck in a teatime rut. Every day she makes a ‘proper’ tea – posting on Instagram @5oclockapron – and from this, her first book The 5 O’clock Apron was born. Claire has written for the Guardian and the Telegraph and numerous other food publications, and has also appeared on Saturday Kitchen and Cerys Matthews Radio 6 Music. Claire is a food ambassador for The National Trust. She has two new books published in 2017, The National Trust Family Cookbook and The Art Of The Larder. Claire is also co-founder of the creative food website for children www.tableofdelights.com. Claire is almost always in an apron cooking with the children’s homework, P.E. kits and spelling tests piling up on the kitchen table, only adding to the delicious chaos of her home kitchen.
