Journalist and Writer

Rachel Cooke is an award winning journalist. She writes for The Observer, and is the television critic of the New Statesman. Her first book, HER BRILLIANT CAREER: TEN EXTRAORDINARY WOMEN OF THE FIFTIES (Virago/ Harper US) was published in 2013. She is now beginning work on her second, a short history of the spinster which she hopes to call THE ODD WOMAN. Rachel is also busy writing an essay for Radio 3 about her love for Francoise Sagan’s novel BONJOUR TRISTESSE.
