Caroline Catz is an actress, documentary filmmaker and a music fan.
Last year Caroline screened A Message To The World, her second documentary feature, examining the life of Jesse Hector, who with his band The Hammersmith Gorillas inspired the British punks in '76 with his incredible stage shows and his space age mod look.
Whilst Caroline lives in London she has spent a lot of time here in Cornwall over the last few years filming the hit TV show Doc Martin and its fitting that Caroline's directorial debut is set here too.
Tapestry Goes West …A memory of a festival ….chronicles the humble beginnings of one man's obsession with rock 'n' roll and the free world, and what happened when his monthly club ,with its colourful habitués decamped to a Wild West town in Cornwall for three days.
The film captures early performances from bands such as Daisy, Kitty & Lewis and The Magic Numbers and features Sheriff JB and his legendary wild west show at the Spirit of the West town at Winnards Perch. A place that has since been abandoned, the Gunslingers long gone ….
Outside of directing, Caroline Catz is best known for her leading roles in the TV series Doc Martin, and DCI Banks.
