Rebecca is an acclaimed playwright whose work has been performed all over the world. She was the first living female playwright to have an original play - the celebrated Her Naked Skin, which explored the suffragette movement - performed on the National Theatre’s Olivier stage. Other plays include: Soho – A Tale of Table Dancers; The Night Season, Shoreditch Madonna, An Enemy of the People (adapt); Ghosts (adapt); The Painter and The Turn of the Screw (adapt.) She is currently writing a play for the Bush Theatre. Rebecca also writes for film and television. She co-wrote the screenplay for IDA with director Pawel Pawlikowski which has won numerous awards including the Oscar this year for Best Foreign Language Film, the BAFTA and the SPIRIT awards for the same category and the Best Film awards at both the London Film Festival and the Warsaw Film Festival in 2013. It was released in the US and UK in 2014 to 4 and 5 star reviews.
Rebecca is currently writing a screenplay for Kristen Scott Thomas to direct and has just collaborated on a screenplay, I WANT TO BE LIKE YOU, with Bulgarian director Konstantin Bojanov and on THE SWEET LIFE for Russian director Alexander Zeldovitch. She is now developing an original drama series for ITV Studios, adapting a book for Scott Free/BBC TV for Kevin MacDonald and a screenplay and SPY PRINCESS, for Haimark Films. Rebecca has written extensively for radio including a serialisation of DRACULA for BBC4. Her writing is vivid, intelligent and beautifully wrought with a fierce emotional charge.
