Survival Skills and Techniques

With Survival Wisdom

Survival Wisdom will be setting up camp in the woodlands of Port Eliot to provide a drop in clinic for all your survival skill needs. Visit them over the weekend to learn about:

"Remote Living” -  Learn how to live and operate comfortably in remote regions and an isight into life and living in the desert and jungle.

Natural Navigation”-  The workshop provides you with natural clues to orientation and location using long-forgotten skills, still in use by many native navigators around the world. The Survival Wisdom team has had many years of navigation experience throughout the world both on land and sea. Further they have been trained by Tristan Gooley ‘The Natural Navigator’, to deliver a theoretical and practical package that will enhance even the most seasoned and practiced navigators.

"Survival PLAN”- The workshop introduces the key aspects of the survival PLAN (Protection, Location, Acquisition and Navigation). During the workshop the guests are given the scenario of being temporarily cut off from rescue and with poor communications. The workshop then covers utilisation of the equipment packed in a day-sack, we demonstrate specialist survival tools to make camp and signal to Search and Rescue teams. The workshop will see the guests able to practice skills such as lighting a fire without matches and improvised signaling techniques that can help promote your own recovery and rescue.
