Music and madness!
This summer’s best garden party just got better – we’re thrilled to announce that Evan Dando, Noah and the Whale, Richard Strange, Murray Lachlan Young, Mik Artistik’s Ego Trip, My Window Faces South, The Lani Singers, Dulwich Ukulele Club and a string of other fantastic live music, DJs, cabaret, dance and other acts will also be coming to play at the 2009 Port Eliot Festival.
As summer fast approaches, we’ve booked more music than ever before – from big-name musical legends to fresh new talent, mellow acoustic sets to foot-stomping rockabilly, a nature disco to a full-on 1940s big band and swing get-up!
They’ll be joining musical luminaries Edwyn Collins performing with his wife Grace Maxwell, Jeff Barrett of Heavenly Records and Caught By the River, Gaz Mayall, The Antonius Players, Louis Eliot and Black Friday, Wurlitza, Braga Tanga, Glorious Chorus and cabaret and comedy performances from Found In Translation, Simon Munnery, Arthur Smith, Rick Stroud, Ben Moor, Craig Taylor and Cscape Dance company. Not forgetting, of course, the infamous One Minute Disco (the cult hit of the festival in 2007), they all bring something extraordinarily different to this summer’s shindig.
Caught By The River also have some more musical magic up their sleeves. More on that later, but if you can’t wait then head to their profile page for a few clues…
In the meantime, we’re off to dust off our dancing shoes.
