Ben Moor
Ben Moor is an actor and writer. He has starred in several films including Dead Man Running, Disney’s Casanova and Tooth. His television credits include The I.T Crowd, Knowing Me, Knowing You…with Alan Partridge, Time Gentlemen Please and Fist of Fun. An Edinburgh Festival veteran, Ben has starred in an eclectic and entertaining mix of one-man shows including It Takes Forever If You Go By Inertia and A Supercollider For The Family.
Ben lives in London and has written and performed in 10 solo shows at the Edinburgh Fringe. He’ll be performing his one-man show Coleacanth at this year’s Port Eliot Festival; a tale of his days as a competitive tree climber which he later adapted for the BBC as a Radio 4 play. The Financial Times wrote of Coleacanth “such odd yet perfectly crafted miniature jewels are the essence of Fringe magic”, while the Observer described it as “beautifully performed” and Metro hailed it as a “mind-bogglingly brilliant piece of theatre”.
Ben’s work also includes acting roles in the plays Not Everything is Significant, A Busy Day and Three Wishes. He was a columnist for the Guardian Guide and is a regular contributor to The Idler. Portobello Books will publish a collection of his plays, More Trees to Climb, later this year.
“Irreverent, inventive and hauntingly beautiful all at once”
