The Fashion Dolls’ Teaparty

Ask any designer or fashion luminary to retrieve their earliest formative memories, and they’ll often start talking about dressing their dolls - playthings whose adventures in clothes, hair and makeup are responsible for kindling many a great career. This summer we’ve thrown open the Big Dining Room to host an illustrious gathering of these influential VIPs. Co-curated by Sarah Mower and Alexander Fury, The Fashion Dolls’ Teaparty will be designed by Michael Howells. Dolls who have accepted our invitation to tea so far include those of Donatella Versace, Christopher Kane, Erdem, Sarah Burton, Giles Deacon, Jason Wu, Alber Elbaz, Lulu Kennedy, Louise Gray, Christopher Raeburn, Edward Meadham, Professor Louise Wilson, Tammy Kane, Gareth Pugh, Viktor & Rolf, Gareth Pugh, Meadham Kirchhoff, Roksanda Ilincic, Simone Rocha, Amanda Harlech and even Port Eliot’s own Catherine St Germans.

What’s more, you’re all invited to bring your own dolls along for a Show & Tell. There will be gifts from Barbie for the Best Dressed and Most Loved dolls…
