Louis Eliot & The Embers

Bringing us choruses aplenty that soar high above the Cornish landscape, Louis Eliot’s very own rural sound – with its mix of country, folk and an unshakeable pop sensibility – never fails to rouse. Heralded by Vogue magazine as a “country troubadour” and the Times as a “true pop genius”, Louis and his band have played storming shows at Glastonbury, Cornbury, Maker, Secret Garden Party and of course, the Port Eliot Festival.

Louis Eliot is the former main man of 1990s Britpop Romantics, Rialto, who enjoyed three UK top 40 hits and a top 20 album. The band toured extensively throughout Europe as well as in the US, Russia and South East Asia, where they achieved double platinum album sales.

In 2004, Louis set out in a new direction with his solo debut, The Long Way Round. The Sunday Times made it their CD of the week and the record won him new fans across the board. Shows with Sharron Shannon, Seth Lakeman and Sinead O’Connor were followed by tours of the UK and South East Asia.

With a new album out this summer and bookings in the UK and Europe, Louis and the band are looking forward to a busy 2009.
