Sir Peter Blake

The Godfather of British Pop Art, Sir Peter Blake remains as beloved and as relevant as ever. Best known for the Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band sleeve design, Blake, who was knighted in 2002, has had retrospective exhibitions at both the Tate and Tate Liverpool and his reputation as a master across several media – including painting, collage and commercial graphics ¬– have guaranteed his work an immortality reserved only for the true greats.

More recently, Blake has designed The CCA Art Bus. A rock n’ roll style tour bus adored with Blake’s graphics, it operates as both a mobile art gallery and educational facility, visiting schools, communities, festivals, galleries and art events with the purpose of introducing old and young to art and particularly to printmaking.
