Canoryon Lowen

Canoryon Lowen is one of Cornwall’s most versatile choirs. Under the direction of Cornish Bard Nick Hart the choir sing a repertoire which runs from Tallis to Tavener, Beach Boys to Bohemian Rhapsody and everything in between. Classical, contemporary, jazz and popular all feature regularly in Canoryon Lowen concerts. This evenly balanced mixed choir of 28 singers is based in St Neot, with members drawn from both Devon and Cornwall. The choir also perform larger works such as Orff’s Carmina Burana, Jenkins’ The Armed Man and Fauré’s Requiem and the community opera A Daughter’s Tale. In December 2013 it gave the first performance of The Midwinter Cantata specially written for the choir, as was the opera, by Nick Hart. In August this year the choir is representing Cornwall in the International Inter-Celtic Festival in Lorient, Brittany.

Canoryon Lowen will perform on the Cabaret stage.
