Tom Payne

Tom Payne is the author of Fame: from the Bronze Age to Britney, and a translation of Ovid’s The Art of Love (both Vintage books). His Ancient Guide to Growing Old appears in spring 2015. For four years he was the Daily Telegraph’s deputy literary editor, and still works as a reviewer. He teaches English at Sherborne School, and Latin at the Gryphon School, Sherborne. He will be giving a guide to love and sex in the ancient world at this year’s festival.
