Award winning playwright and director Jez Butterworth has seen his work showered with accolades and praise on both sides of the Atlantic. Also a film director, Jez is well-known for his debut film Mojo (1997) which was based on his multi award-winning stage play of the same name. His screenplay for the movie Fair Game (starring Sean Penn and Naomi Watts) won the Writers Guild of America West’s 2011 Paul Selvin Award.
Author of the recent West End hit Jerusalem (2009), which was this year nominated for a Tony Award, Mr. Butterworth comes to the Academy to give a masterclass in dramatic writing.
