Fisherman’s Friends stormed into the public conscience last year when they signed a million pound record deal with Universal Music after being discovered playing in their local pub in Port Isaac, Cornwall, by a holidaying record producer.
Their haunting songs of loss and longing, sea shanties and Cornish folk songs have been enchanting locals and tourists alike for over 15 years as they sing their rousing choruses on summer’s a evening in the tiny harbourside fishing village of Port Isaac. These regular portside concerts have become a much-loved local institution and visiting celebrities such as Chris Evans, Gloria Hunniford and Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen have fallen under the spell of their shanty singing.
