Camera Obscura

Camera Obscura

Internationally exhibiting artist and educationalist Jamie House is bringing the magical spectacle of his multi-holed Camera Obscura installation to Port Eliot’s grounds. Having already made England’s largest Camera Obscura, Jamie’s new installation will create a fantastical environment of wonder, with images merging into each other to produce a multiple fractured projection of the world outside.

Outside the tent, Jamie and his able assistants from Plymouth College of Art and Design will be showing festival-goers how to make a simple hand-held Camera Obscura – a simple device anybody can make in 10 minutes. Learn the principles of a Camera Obscura and what it’s like to view the world through a small pinhole.
