LushLife’s music is strangely familiar, but combined with their enthusiasm and energy they have taken a genre a step ahead and created the exotic and effortlessly cool new sound of ‘Loft Jazz’. Sting described BJ Cole as “the best pedal steel player in the world”, Roger Beaujolais is a renowned master of jazz and Simon Thorpe is fast becoming one of the UK’s favourite bassists. Built on years of experience, the band was born out of a shared curiosity to bring the pedal steel and vibraphone together for the first time. The trio has also worked with the likes of Marc Bolan, John Cale, Robert Plant, Paul Weller, Elton John, Pet Shop Boys, Groove Armada, The Verve and REM, to name but a few.
