Joshua Neale has a diverse background in drama, documentary and commercials. Shooting much of his own work, Joshua’s films are characterised by a palpable intimacy and strong visual style. His distinctive voice as a filmmaker truly emerged in 2007 with the BAFTA Shortlisted Karaoke Soul, which mixes observational documentary with musical performances from the characters. This was followed by the innovative and thought-provoking Cotton Wool Kids. Despicable Dick and Righteous Richard, showing in Port Eliot Festival’s Paradiso Piccolo this July, is Joshua’s first feature documentary and he aims to continue to make bold, creative films with powerful human stories at their heart.
