As a teenage rebel raver, Emma had the fortune to witness the dawn of acid house at Rage and Boomshanka. Inspired by the dancefloor, she went on to become a founding writer for Jockey Slut, and spent four years at The Face. Now writing for the Observer, Time Out and boutique magazines such as Marmalade and Dummy, Emma also heads up youth magazine Live, reinforcing the responsibility to community that many music magazines forget too quickly.
She’ll be hosting Tales from the Typographic Ocean, a discussion on rock n’ roll, the printed word and the counter culture with three key figures from pre-punk onwards - Andy Childs, Mick Houghton and Geoff Travis.
