Lynne Hatwell has been writing her much-loved literary blog, dovegreyreader scribbles for the last five years from her home in Devon. She’s a community nurse in her spare time and a bookaholic, sock-knitting, quilter and lifelong reader for the rest of the time. Having blogged live from the Port Eliot Festival in 2009 and 2010, this year she’s planning something a little different. Not to be outsmarted by Virginia Woolf and her room of her own, for 2011 dovegreyreader is going to have a tent of her own.

Think civilised and comfortable Literary Salon, with sofas and plumped-up cushions and quilts on the walls and pots of tea and cake and knitting, and the chance to meet and talk in relaxed surroundings with some of the writers who’ll be visiting Port Eliot this summer.

A team of dovegreyreader reporters, readers of the blog from around the country, will also be descending on Cornwall, roaming the festival and reporting live on the atmosphere and the events as they happen – and doubtless for days afterwards, sending Port Eliot around the world for everyone to enjoy.

And of course there will be knitting, just how many yards of the dovegreyreader Port Eliot scarf can we manage over the weekend?

The dovegreyreader tent will be situated in the Walled Garden.
