Fionn Regan
Irish singer-songwriter Fionn Regan’s critically praised debut album The End Of History received a Mercury nomination in 2007. His follow-up, The Shadow of an Empire was released this February to great acclaim, confirming his reputation as both maverick genius and one of the most talented contemporary singer-songwriters around, likened to Bob Dylan by some.
Fionn began working on his new album whilst touring worldwide for two years, as he puts it, “seeing the world, the bone structure, the pulp.” He decided to write, perform and produce it himself and bought a trident desk, a tape machine and set up in a small, disused factory space in Co. Wicklow, Ireland and so he could make the album without interference. Never short of champions, Heavenly Recordings’ Jeff Barrett was bowled over by the results and quickly signed him up for Heavenly’s first release of 2010.
Inspired by artists including Bob Dylan and Neil Diamond, Fionn has risen from the folky beginnings of his first album to a bold, rock and roll sound.
With his UK dates selling out fast we’re excited to have him singing for us at Port Eliot this year.

“As a singer, lyricist and musician Fionn Regan fizzes with bravado and wit.”

“Regan’s second album sees the young Dubliner plug in to a similar ragged, rockabily vein to Dylan’s mid-1960s classics.”
