Guy Sangster Adams

Guy Sangster Adams is editor of arts magazine, Plectrum: The Cultural Pick. He co-founded the London arts venue, The Horse Hospital, and has written extensively about arts and culture for an array of publications including L’Uomo Vogue, The Independent, and Nude magazine. He’ll be in conversation with acclaimed designer and artist, Nigel Waymouth, co-founder of the legendary 1960s boutique, Granny Takes a Trip.

Guy was a co-founder of the London arts venue, The Horse Hospital, having discovered the semi-derelict 18th century building, within which the venue was launched in 1993 with the influential exhibition, Vive Le Punk, the first retrospective of the designs of Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McLaren. He then went on to write about arts and culture in addition to writing a number of the entries in the book Club Kids: From Speakeasies to Boombox and Beyond (2008)

In the early 2000s his journey took him from London to Exeter and an extended period of study that began with a MA in English, followed by a MA in European Studies, a relocation to Finland and then a move to Paris.

In 2009 he returned to London to launch the multi-format arts magazine, Plectrum: The Cultural Pick. In addition to the bi-monthly print edition, there are also regular Plectrum Live Editions - events that mix spoken word, author readings, live music, screenings, fashion shows, live art and more.
